Our team
In 2000, Cees van Doorn started hiring migrant workers when he needed more staff for his own packing station. He decided to sell his packing station to Bakker Barendrecht to fully focus on the placement and housing of migrant workers, once he, as the son of a fruit grower, realized the impact these people could have on the sector. That’s when VDU was founded.
Soon it became clear to Cees that other agencies weren’t always as caring for their employees. Having his heart at the right place, Cees decided to set the right example by showing that being both a good employer and a successful entrepreneur can go hand-in-hand. By providing employees with good housing himself, the word started spreading in Poland that VDU was the employer to go to for work. Also more and more customers knew where to find VDU, which helped the company grow.
The growth continued. Partly because of the enormous amount of knowledge about PVF, VDU now has a large regular clientele and more than 500 immigrant workers working through VDU every day. Our flexibility, stemming from our own experience in the industry, helps ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and a loyal customer base. Also our employees appreciate the great employership and remain loyal to our organization. They gain a lot of knowledge during the work and through the trainings they are offered through VDU.
